Controls Engineer

Chicago Electric is seeking a Controls Engineer to join our team in Carol Stream, Illinois.

The Job:

As an Electrical Controls Engineer with Chicago Electric, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, programming and commissioning automation solutions for manufacturing in a broad range of industries throughout the USA. 

You will do this by:

  • Assisting in managing projects in all aspects from conceptual design, electrical drawings, programming, testing, installing and the implementation of control systems.
  • Managing projects by providing strong organizational and leadership skills to the Chicago Electric engineering group.
  • Traveling up to 25% of the time to customer sites for the implementation of various control systems.

The Experience:

The ideal candidate for this position will possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field in the Industrial Automation industry.  Experience in engineering, project management, programming, and AutoCAD is preferred. 

A qualified candidate would have specific strength in four or more of these areas:

  • AutoCAD / Solidworks
  • System Design
  • Robotics – Motoman / ABB
  • Machine Vision – Cognex Keyence
  • PLC Programming – RS Logix
  • SCADA Programming – Indusoft
  • Drives and Motion Control – Allen Bradley
  • MHI Programming
  • Panel design and assembly
  • Field Service and installation
